A 3-day wedding weekend on the Isle of Islay for destination wedding couple Barbara and Steven. We kicked off the weekend with a laid-back, intimate rehearsal lunch, styling it with blooms picked straight from the garden. Guests were welcomed to the island with a seafood banquet inspired by one of the couple's favourite restaurants, Balthazar, and enjoyed a whisky tasting featuring some of the finest selections from our groom's extensive collection. The wedding day festivities included an outdoor ceremony and a four-course black-tie dinner in a Sperry tent at the couple’s property, Islay House. Embracing the brief for 'natural, elegant without ostentation, and a nod to Scotland without it looking like Christmas,' we used Blackwatch tartan as table runners, styled simply with greens and flowers. The next day, guests were treated to a Sunday BBQ and clay pigeon shooting. The dress code for the weekend was country attire, and as favours, guests received Panama hats inscribed with the couple’s names and wedding date, a nod to the bride’s Ecuadorian heritage. (Fun fact, Panama hats are from Ecuador, not Panama).
“Chenai has the wonderfully rare combination of being able to communicate a creative vision, being able to deliver on it and executing it all with a smile.”
